includes responding to news media and public inquiries about the Department's
programs, planning and directing SWP dedication ceremonies, planning and
implementing media tours, and providing training and direct staff assistance
during droughts and floods in responding to media and public needs during
such emergencies.
News Releases are issued by the Public Affairs Office and describe
California Department of Water Resources and State Water Project activities
of general interest. News releases have been archived
on the web since 1996.
Exhibits and displays on the State Water Project (SWP), water
issues, and SWP recreation facilities are designed and exhibited by PAO's
staff. Some of these are portable and are shown at selected exhibitions
throughout the State.
Other exhibits and information materials are available at the Water
Information Center, located in Room 115 of the Resources Building,
1416 - 9th Street, Sacramento.
