DWR News Announcement Procedure

Getting a News Announcement on the DWR Portal (www.water.ca.gov)
The following procedure is intended for DWR sponsored
activities.
Contacts:
(Note: If you already have a news release as a result of the News
Policy, it will automatically be added to the DWR Portal when it is
approved.)
Many times, items are added to the web that don't need a formal news
release document. Examples would include:
- required notices for upcoming meetings or workshops
- release of a new report
- Division program or project news
- announcement of a new public web site
For any of these items, the contributing Division will usually have the
item posted on their own web site already and simply need a link added
to the the DWR Portal to that Division information.
You will be asked to provide:
- a URL from your web site for the information
you wish referenced
- a brief statement (teaser) announcing the information,
which will appear on the DWR Home site.
News items listed on the DWR Portal will remain under Recent News for
30 days or until any specific dates being announced have passed. The link
to the information will be added permanently to the News Archives web
page for the appropriate calendar year.
