Antelope Lake is located on the Upper Indian Creek, a tributary of the North Fork Feather River, 43 miles from Quincy. The lake was primarily constructed to provide recreation and improve fish habitat in Indian Creek by assuring a constant, year-round flow of water below Antelope Dam.

The lake provides recreational opportunities such as camping, picnicking, waterskiing, swimming, boating, hunting, hiking, and winter sports including snowmobiling.

Fishing is usually good in Indian Creek below the spillway at Antelope Dam. Fishing and hunting are regulated by the California Department of Fish and Game.

Three family campgrounds are located at Boulder Creek, Lone Rock, and Long Point. Camping is restricted to these campgrounds within the designated boundaries of Antelope Recreation Area. All campgrounds have tables, stoves, water, and toilets. Trailers up to 30 feet can be accommodated in some units. No hookups for water or waste disposal are provided. However, self-service sanitation dump sites are found near Boulder Creek and Lone Rock Campgrounds.

Camping facilities are usually open May through October, with a maximum stay of 14 days. Camping reservations can be made Monday - Wednesday, 1 (800) 416-6992.
