In northwestern Riverside County, Lake Perris is the southernmost reservoir of the SWP. Lake Perris provides water supply, fish and wildlife enhancement, and recreation. It is one of the most popular recreational lakes in the SWP system.

At Lake Perris State Recreation Area, you can picnic, swim, horseback ride, sail and power boat, camp, waterski, fish, hike, bike, hunt, and rock-climb.
Fishermen fishing off a pier at dusk Lake Perris was the first in Southern California to be stocked with Alabama spotted bass. Other planted fish include rainbow trout, channel catfish, and Florida bluegill.

Alessandro Island is a day-use, boat-in-only area and has picnic tables with cooking grills.

The recreation area is operated by the California Department of Parks and Recreation, 17801 Lake Perris Drive; Perris, CA 92571; (909) 657-0676.
