Do you know . . .
Why you can’t live without water?
Where your water comes from?
What the State Water Project is?

Learn the answers to these questions and more when you visit the California Department of Water Resources’ SWP visitors centers. Each center’s friendly staff can guide you through your FREE water journey of discovery via exhibits, videos and films, and publications.

At each visitors center, you will also learn what the SWP system does and why it is important to the people of California. You’ll also get a glimpse of the history that preceded the project and the events that motivated the move toward the state’s planning and development of its water resources.

DWR’s three visitors centers are located at Lake Oroville (Butte County), San Luis Reservoir (Merced County), and Pyramid Lake (Los Angeles County).
Use the links in the upper right to visit these centers.
