The Romero Overlook Visitors Center
commands a dramatic panorama of the 385 foot-tall rock and earthfill
dam that stores 652 billion gallons of water in San
Luis Reservoir. |

Watch a multi-slide presentation bring to life the facilitys 1962
groundbreaking ceremony presided over by President John F. Kennedy and
Governor Edmund G. Brown, Sr., or you can request to watch a video from
a selection of water topics.

Exhibits explain how this joint state-federal complex of facilities serves
both the State Water Project and the federal Central Valley Project.

Youll also learn about the California Aqueduct and other SWP facilities,
and the ways you and the environment benefit from the SWP.

Friendly DWR guides can give you an informal tour of the center and answer
questions about the recreational activities available and the region's
history.
